Corrections policy · Effective 31 August 2026
A living index needs a visible correction path.
Corrections are evaluated against the same evidence hierarchy used for rankings. Material changes are dated; silent rewrites are reserved for spelling and formatting.
What to send
- The exact page URL, lens name, and statement or value being challenged.
- A direct link to the primary specification, original MTF chart, controlled test, or rights documentation.
- Relevant test conditions: camera, aperture, focal length, distance, focus method, sample count, and processing.
- Whether the issue is factual, methodological, attribution-related, image-rights related, or a production-change report.
How decisions are made
Primary sources and comparable controlled measurements receive priority. A single anecdote can identify a problem but normally cannot establish a catalog-wide correction. Manufacturer and retailer representatives may correct facts; they do not receive a separate ranking channel.
How changes appear
Material changes to a score, uncertainty interval, tier, scope, commercial relationship, or methodology are dated in the public changelog. The affected page receives a new updated date. Typographic and formatting corrections may be made without a separate entry.
Submit a correction
Use “Correction” and the lens or page name in the subject. Commercial inquiries must identify the organization and relationship.
